“What’s with the bunny?", guests always want to know. During Edgefield’s early days of crumbling buildings and overgrown gardens, a group of McMenamins folk was standing in the midst of the madness, trying to imagine the property’s future. Talk stopped as a black rabbit came hopping down the hill, scampering past them before disappearing into its hole. Inspiration struck -- since that moment, McMenamins has tried to convey a “down-the-rabbit-hole” vibe, where the whimsical and the unexpected come together. The black rabbit now appears as one of our signature icons throughout our properties.
