Using barrels fresh from our own distillery or winery, we house a seasonal selection of coffee beans for three months of aging – at which time the beans absorb the barrel flavor, then we roast them, bag them, and send them to our gift shops. The flavor that the spirits have imparted on the coffee gives it a nice whiskey aroma and flavor without the alcohol content.

Hogshead Whiskey Barrel-Aged El Salvador Coffee
Coffee beans have a wonderful capacity to absorb flavors and aromas, a trait our roaster takes full advantage of. This Salvadoran coffee has been aged in our whiskey barrels, creating an incredible, unusual cup. The first sip is surprising, the second delightful, and with the third, you’re a true convert. We love this rich, full bodied coffee with its nuances of whiskey, oak, chocolate and walnut – especially in the wintertime.
