Using barrels fresh from our own distillery or winery, we house a seasonal selection of coffee beans for three months of aging – at which time the beans absorb the barrel flavor, then we roast them, bag them, and send them to our gift shops. The flavor that the spirits have imparted on the coffee gives it a nice whiskey aroma and flavor without the alcohol content.

Three Rocks Rum Barrel-Aged Honduras Coffee
Coffee is able to absorb flavors and aromas. We use this to our advantage by placing it inside of a freshly emptied rum barrel, where it takes on the characteristics of the residual spirits inside. In the three months that the coffee spends inside the barrel, it takes on the great aromas and flavors of the rum without the alcohol.
